    While Alba is sure of her uncle's love, she has a major complex caused by her parents' rejection. She understands logically that she isn't at fault for her father's prejudices and imagined slights, but she can't help the depression over the fact that she could be cast aside and resented so easily by her own parents. Even when she was a child, she was used as an example that her father finally managed to 'one-up' his brother. This became a main reason in her drive to do so well in her studies and work.

    Alba keeps to herself most of the time and has been known to become so engrossed in her work that she becomes oblivious to what is happening around her. She tries not to, but she become very stubborn when someone critiques her work or orders her to do something she doesn't want to.

    While Alba has faced prejudice because of her power and skill from her own parents, she has been relatively sheltered from the world outside of Petrichor, and like most of those living in the city, pretends everything is okay in the world. She is aware of the poor and oppressed, but she really has no understanding of what it's like for them. Alba likes to think - or at least hope - that their semi-annual donations and her designs are doing more than they actually are.


> > > > BIOGRAPHY
    The Vaughans are a family prominent in the area of construction and were part of the group that designed and built Petrichor after the war. Alba’s uncle was one of the first generation of supers; however, because of the family’s wealth and his inconspicuous power, he went relatively unnoticed by those who were anti-super. His younger brother, on the other hand, had always been jealous of his brother and persistently found reasons to hate him. This caused a major rift in the family.

    Alba was born a few years before construction on Petrichor started and at the tail end of the First Generation War, so she has little memory of life outside the protective walls of the city. Her family wasn't as rich as they are presently, though the Vaughans quickly had their foot in the door because of the hard work of her grandfather and uncle. She grew up watching their ideas and designs come to life from the ground up. She was doted on by her grandfather and uncle as the sole heir to the Vaughan empire, though was given only cursory attention by her parents as they were more interested in taking advantage of the greater wealth the business was bringing in.

    By the time Alba turned fourteen, the signs that she would be a super were starting to present themselves. Where before her father found her an asset that could easily be ignored when it suited him, she was now becoming something he hated and envied with equal fervor.

    While she grew even further apart from her parents, her uncle took her under his wing, continuing to love her as he would the children he was unable to have. Alba spent years at his knee learning the family business, and he now taught her how to control her powers as well. After she graduated from high school, Alba attended Petrichor’s university, partially on her family’s recommendation and money, but also because she has a keen mind for the industry. She recently graduated with a degree in Architectural Engineering and is working towards her masters in design.

    Comakinetic Reinforcement || The ability to reinforce hair to the point that it would be very difficult to cut or break using normal physical means.

      Comakinectic Constructs || The ability to form hair into different shapes (i.e. large hands or snakes). May be also used to form a shield around part of the body; the thicker and longer the hair, the more effective the shield would be.

      Hair Propulsion || Allows Alba to physically propel or move herself using her hair. In conjunction with Comakinectic Constructs, manifesting actual working wings with her hair is a possibility, though Alba doesn't have the skills to achieve it yet.

      Accelerated Hair Growth || Can grow hair as long as desired quickly, though not spontaneously and is unable to make it shorter at will.

    Alba would be unable to use her power to its fullest momentarily if it was cut short, though she can grow it back faster than normal. Also, because she can only affect the hair on her head, it would keep her close to the danger if she ever actually had to fight someone or defend herself. Hair is very strong, but it is also limited to how much pressure the skull can take. Some things may have different effects that would making it difficult or impossible to use; for example, fire would burn it off, and water would make it brittle, easy to break, and more difficult to move.

    Alba's uncle's also has the power of hair manipulation; however, his ability is to grow (and retract) short silver hair all over his body and strengthen it to steel-like hardness. He uses his power mainly for defense and it was how he got the nickname Shield, though Alba teasingly calls him Yeti or Bigfoot.

    While Alba's father has a strong dislike for supers, he has to stay in Petrichor if he wants any access to the family's money as it's mostly run (and earned) by his father and brother. He once tried to force Alba into a marriage of convenience with one of the sons of another rich family. In order to avoid it, Alba got herself tested to make sure that she was actually sterile like many other supers.

    Alba loves good food. She and her uncle have a standing, weekly dinner date where they go and sample from the wide variety of restaurants around the city.

    Alba has a personal project to design cheap, but quality housing for the poor sections of Petrichor.
